Contributions of the Program to the Region
PPGCF is the first Program of the area to be implemented in the northern region of Brazil. Its creation made it possible to qualify graduates of Pharmacy courses and related areas, providing more expectations of performance for professionals in the field. The scientific knowledge produced in the PPGCF has contributed to advances in understanding the health-disease process, especially in the most prevalent diseases in the Amazon. The region also has great potential for harnessing natural resources for the development of herbal medicines and cosmetics, which provides visibility and, consequently, attracting several national and international partnerships and students from other regions of the country, who chose the Amazon to conduct their research . Thus, PPGCF plays a role of extreme importance for the North region and also for the rest of the country, collaborating satisfactorily with the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences through the work of its graduates.
